Hafizah Geter is a South Carolina native currently living in Brooklyn, New York. She is a Cave Canem fellow and was a semifinalist for the 2010 “Discovery” / Boston Review Contest. A recipient of a 2012 Amy Award from Poets & Writers, a 2013 Blacksmith House Emerging Writer, and a finalist in the Fifth Annual Narrative Magazine Poetry Prize, she was also a 2014 Ruth Lilly Poetry Fellowship finalist. Her poems have appeared or are forthcoming in RHINO, Columbia: A Journal of Literature and Art, Linebreak, Narrative Magazine, Gulf Coast, Boston Review, and the Los Angeles Review of Books Quarterly Journal, among others.
