David Caute is an author, novelist, playwright, historian, and journalist. He was a Henry Fellow at Harvard and a prize fellow at All Souls College, Oxford. Among his books are The Fellow Travellers: A Postscript on the Enlightenment (Yale 1988), Sixty-Eight: The Year of the Barricades (1988), The Dancer Defects: The Struggle for Cultural Supremacy during the Cold War (2003), and Politics and the Novel during the Cold War (2010).
