David Bromwich is Sterling Professor of English at Yale University, where he has taught since 1988. Among his books are Hazlitt: The Mind of a Critic (1983), Disowned by Memory: Wordsworth’s Poetry of the 1790s (1998), The Intellectual Life of Edmund Burke (2014), and How Words Make Things Happen (2019).
