In Case of Emergency is Courtney Moreno’s first novel; her award-winning writing has also appeared in LA Weekly and The Best American Nonrequired Reading. She received a BS in molecular biology from UC Berkeley, an MFA in creative writing from the University of San Francisco, and during the 10 years in between worked as an entomologist’s assistant, lab technician, clinical research coordinator, stagehand, set carpenter, modern and aerial dancer, EMT, and field training officer. She lives in San Francisco.
