Basharat Peer is a Kashmiri journalist currently based in New York. He is the author of Curfewed Night: A Frontline Memoir of Life, Love and War in Kashmir (2010), which won the Crossword Prize for Nonfiction, and A Question of Order: India, Turkey and the Return of Strongmen (2017). He has written extensively on South Asian politics for Granta, Foreign Affairs, the Guardian, The New Yorker, and other publications.
