Miranda Banks is associate professor of Visual and Media Arts at Emerson College and a Fellow at the Emerson Engagement Lab. Her research focuses on Hollywood’s creative labor and American media industry history. She is the author of The Writers: A History of American Screen Writers and Their Guild (Rutgers, 2015) and co-editor of Production Studies: Cultural Studies of Media Industries (Routledge, 2009). Her work has appeared in Television & New Media, Popular Communication, The Journal of Popular Film and Television, and Montage/AV, as well as the anthologies How to Watch Television (NYU, 2013) and Gender and Creative Labour (2015).
