Jon Friedman

Jon Friedman writes about the media industry for such publications as TimeEsquire, Newsmax, and the New York Post. He launched the Media Matrix blog for IndieWire, as well. He wrote the well-known Media Web column for MarketWatch from 1999 to 2013. Before focusing on the media, Jon covered the Wall Street beat for Bloomberg, BusinessWeek, USA Today, and Investor’s Business Daily. Jon is the author of Forget About Today: Bob Dylan’s Genius for (Re)Invention, Shunning the Naysayers, and Creating a Personal Revolution (Perigee, 2012). Before Kevin Spacey made House of Cards a Netflix sensation, Jon co-wrote a book called House of Cards: Inside the Troubled Empire of American Express (G. P. Putnam’s Sons, 1992). A native of Jericho, New York, Jon now lives in Manhattan.
