Hua Hsu

Hua Hsu, an associate professor of English at Vassar College, is a staff writer at the New Yorker. His first book, A Floating Chinaman: Fantasy and Failure Across the Pacific, was published in 2016. He is on the board of the Asian American Writers Workshop. A version of this piece appeared in the Spring 2013 issue of Reflections, a journal of the Yale Divinity School.
