Susan Sontag

Susan Sontag (b.1933) was an American critic, novelist and public intellectual. Her work includes the essay collections Against Interpretation (1966), Styles of Radical Will (1969), and Where the Stress Falls (2001), as well as influential books on photography (On Photography, 1977) and illness (Illness as Metaphor, 1978), and the National Book Award-winning novel In America (1999). She died in 2004.
