Rakesh Khanna is the editor of the two-volume The Blaft Anthology of Tamil Pulp Fiction. Khanna grew up in Berkeley and moved to Chennai ten years ago. He works as an editor of an online math website and of math textbooks for middle school and high school students. He is the founding editor of Blaft Publications, which publishes English translations of Tamil and Urdu literature. Blaft he says, is named after "a popular parlor game in Eastern India under the Sunga dynasty, involving marbles, burping contests, and ritual scarification."
