Rainer Werner Fassbinder was a German director, screenwriter, and actor associated with the New German Cinema of the 1970s. Some of his most famous films include Ali: Fear Eats the Soul, The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant, and The Marriage of Maria Braun.
