Michael J. Klarman

Michael J. Klarman is an American legal historian, and constitutional law scholar, the Kirkland & Ellis Professor at Harvard Law School. Klarman specializes in the constitutional history of race. He contends that the Supreme Court of the United States has historically been hostile to the rights of minorities and has not consistently enforced constitutional protections for them. He is the author of From the Closet to the Altar: Courts, Backlash, and the Struggle for Same-Sex Marriage (2013).
