Lisa Ross is a Brooklyn born artist. Her practice explores manifestations of faith, intimate portrayals of the ephemeral and real as well as imagined historical narratives. Lisa received a BA from Sarah Lawrence College and an MFA in Visual Arts from Columbia University. She is a fellow of the Bronx Museum AIM program; a two time recipient of the Hayward Prize through the American Austrian Foundation; and a grantee of the CICRP/French Ministry of Culture for a residency in Azerbaijan. Ross has had numerous gallery exhibitions in the US and Europe and received reviews in The New York Times, The New Yorker, New York Magazine, and multiple print and online journals. Her work was shown in venues such as Rencontres D’Arles Festival, France, and the University of California, Berkeley. She has upcoming exhibitions at Le Viélle Charité, Marseilles, France, and Sarah Lawrence College, New York.
