Alice Kaplan is the author of Reproductions of Banality: Fascism, Literature, and French Intellectual Life; French Lessons: A Memoir; The Collaborator: The Trial and Execution of Robert Brasillach; and The Interpreter. She is the translator of several French books, and her interest includes autobiography and memory, translation in theory and practice, twentieth-century French literature, cultural studies, and post-war culture. Her latest book is Dreaming in French: The Paris Years of Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy, Susan Sontag, and Angela Davis, published by the University of Chicago Press. Kaplan is the John M. Musser Professor of French at Yale University.
