Leah Larson earned a PhD in medieval literature from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where she enjoyed studying Icelandic sagas in Old Norse. She is Professor of English at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas where she directs the English graduate program and serves as president of the faculty. She has developed and taught a wide range of classes, including Dark Romanticism, Social Issues in Victorian Literature, Reading Medieval Women, and Literature and the Earth. This semester she is teaching a class on Shakespeare and a graduate seminar on Post-Apocalyptic Literature. Her research interests include horror, especially the films of Kiyoshi Kurosawa, and the many variations of the Robin Hood legend, and she has published and presented numerous conference papers on both topics. Her leisure interests include European travel, gardening, lazing on the beach, and herding cats.
