M. Keith Booker is the James E. and Ellen Wadley Roper Professor of English at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, where he also directs the Program in Comparative Literature and Cultural Studies. He has written or edited more than forty books on literature, film, and television, with a special interest in science fiction, on which his publications include Monsters, Mushroom Clouds, and the Cold War: American Science Fiction and the Roots of Postmodernism, 1946-1964 (2001), Science Fiction Television (2004), Alternate Americas: Science Fiction Film and American Culture (2006), The Science Fiction Handbook (2009, with Anne-Marie Thomas), and The Historical Dictionary of Science Fiction Cinema (2010).
