Tom Bissell

Tom Bissell is a journalist, critic, and fiction writer based in Portland, Oregon. He studied English at Michigan State University in East Lansing, and his books have won several prizes, including the Rome Prize, the Anna Akhmatova Prize, and the Best Travel Writing Award from Peace Corps Writers. His short stories and journalism have also been anthologized in The Best American Short Stories, The Best American Travel Writing, and The Best American Science Writing.
